    That tone. Maybe Verity is back to how it was. Back to being Mob’s eager to please, ball shaped companion.

    A long yellow arm moves towards the top plank.

    “Like this.” Verity lifts the log with surprising strength. Mob hears it thud behind him.

    He doesn’t turn around.
