    Charles grinned at his new mate, trying not to look too smug about it. He had a pretty bad I-told-you-so habit that drove other people mental. Edwin stared back at him in complete shock, which was kind of funny to see. He’d seemed so composed and knowledgeable earlier but now that Charles had thrown him a curveball, he was all disoriented. He unfroze quickly though, once the blue light had reached almost blinding levels of brightness.
