Suguru perks up at the sound of Satoru’s voice, paling slightly when he takes in the expression on his face.
He has one of those looks, the one that tells Suguru the next words that will come out his mouth will either be absolutely brilliant, or the worst thing he’s ever heard.
Suguru gulps slightly, his palms suddenly feeling clammy. He wipes them on his thighs before letting his finger trace the rim of his glass. “What is it?”
“You can take me!” he beams, a magnificent smile spreading across his lips. “I’ll be your boyfriend!”
If Suguru could see his reflection right now, he would probably look as pale as Satoru.
A smoke signal, a flare gun going off, someone coming up to him and blatantly saying, ‘Hey, your best friend is about to say something really fucking crazy’, anything would have been nice to prepare Suguru for this.
“What?” Suguru croaks.

Suguru sighs and presses his thumb to his forehead like he’s trying to stave off a tension headache. “Satoru. You are not gay. You do not need to watch gay porn.”
“I’m not, like, homophobic, though,” Satoru says, offended. “I can watch. It’s not gonna be weird.”
Suguru gives him a long look. “It’s absolutely gonna be weird.”
Satoru just raises an eyebrow. They stare at each other, unmoving, unblinking.
“Fine. Take your dick out. I don’t fucking care,” says Suguru. He hits play.
Satoru’s a really good ally. Such a good ally, in fact, that he’s going to learn to suck dick just to support his best friend Suguru. Which is, like, peak ally behavior and totally not gay at all.

There are so many downsides to this whole thing that the rational part of Suguru's brain doesn’t even know how he got caught up in all of this in the first place. But he's tired of being frustrated, and the relief that came from being in bed with Satoru was clarifying. He is beautiful like a siren, and Suguru hasn't been able to think about him without feeling his cock twitching in his pants the entire day. He has never felt this before, this lust that leaves his mind blank like a dog offered a bone, and he wants to follow this feeling to the end and drown himself in it. Suguru wants it.
Satoru and Suguru have a mutually beneficial arrangement: the sex is great, and the company is fun. It's enough until it isn't.

“Let’s get one thing straight,” Suguru says, his voice low and threatening, dark eyes glittering in the waning sunlight streaming through the windows. “I’m not doing this as a favor to you. I am doing this because you’re right about one thing and one thing only-- Megumi deserves better than a life with Limitless.”
Suguru leans in close enough that Satoru can count his individual lashes. Satoru’s heart thunders in his chest, his limbs cold and useless where he sits.
“And when all is said and done, I want you gone from my life. Permanently. I have worked too god damned hard to give my daughters some sense of normalcy, and if you fuck that up-- you will wish you’d stayed an agent. Are we clear, Satoru?”
Satoru’s nod is the barest flicker of movement. Suguru releases him and steps back.
“Good. Glad we understand each other.”
Or: the one where a young Megumi is thrust upon Satoru and they go on a good old-fashioned American cross-country road trip about it.
