“Maybe someone told him about the party,” Rae said innocently, or as innocently as she could with her dark eyes dancing. “Maybe a little birdy told him he should come.”
“You guys really asked him?” Sykkuno could hardly believe it. It seemed like such a long shot. The party was fun, sure. His friends were nice people and Corpse seemed to like them too. But it wasn't like these were Corpse's only friends. Corpse didn't seem the kind of guy who liked partying so much that he'd get in his car and drive all the way to Los Angeles. Besides, he was always so busy. “He wanted to drive all the way here, for – for a party?”

A soft, quick inhalation. Corpse's bracelet rattled as his hands shook more. “Yes.”
“A-and...you were jealous because – ”
“I like you, Sykkuno,” Corpse said. “I like you a lot.”
“Oh.” Sykkuno swallowed hard. Blood rushed through his veins, swirling his thoughts like a vortex, a powerful surge of something pulsing through him. Corpse's voice was making the hairs on his arms stand up. The deep bass sound was thrilling, but nowhere near as thrilling as hearing those words come out of Corpse's mouth.

“Oh my god, what?!” Sykkuno was cleaning his room when he heard Lily shriek from the hallway.
“Is this real?” Sykkuno heard Toast say.
Sykkuno walked into the living room to see Toast and Lily crowding over Lily’s phone. Michael walked up behind him, concerned from hearing Lily scream. He walked past Sykkuno and went over to Lily and peeked over her shoulder, “What’s going on?”
“Corpse just sent a selfie in the discord!”
