Summary
After Robert and Maryse die in a car accident when Alec is two, he and Jace are put into foster care where Jace is quickly adopted. "Yeah, it's good," Joe agreed without meaning it, but he took a bite out of courtesy.
It was fine. Nothing more. Nicky could've cooked this dish a hundred times better – had, in fact, done it many times – with his eyes closed and a hand tied behind his back. Joe grimaced at the memory of Nicky serving him a plate full of delicious pasta with one of his little smiles Joe had loved from the minute he'd met him.
