Summary
It was too easy to mourn the temporary loss of friendship and company he’d gotten used to in the past few months. To find himself grow more and more restless with every grunt of “-no, you can’t see Maria-” he received throughout the next two days.
Though occasionally the response came with an explanation tacked on, one in regards to a “flew” mentioned like it was meant to give him a sense of comfort.
It really only served to confuse and irritate Shadow further. To his knowledge, humans couldn’t fly. Unless they were in a movie, he supposed, but Maria wasn’t in some type of movie.
A short puff of air escapes between grit teeth. It’s frustrating.
And it’s even more frustrating that he’s gotten this upset over it.
It's been three days since Shadow's seen Maria and it doesn't take a genius to notice how much it's been taking a toll on him. But whereas Shadow expected secrets about why he couldn't see her, he's faced with only one explanation.
Maria has the "flew". Which is weird. Humans aren't supposed to fly.
