Alastor clicked.
“No—double click. Do it twice!”
Alastor clicked once, then—after a pause that seemed to last a full century—clicked again.
He was fucking with him. He had to be fucking with him. There was no way he was actually this bad at this.
...
Or, in a last-ditch attempt to stay relevant, Vox sells his soul to Alastor, promising to assist him in all matters modern and otherwise. It goes about as well as you'd expect.

They share a look with each other, just as confused as him. Vel clears her throat. “The Radio Demon?” she tries, like he should recognize it.

“Radio?” Vox furrows his brow, thinking. “Kind of outdated, isn’t it? Aren’t we in the modern era of television right now?” He makes a wide sweeping gesture. “Out with the old, in with the new!”

He will. He's not fucking heartless. Velvette called him a doormat earlier and she's fucking wrong, he just knows when to pick his battles, and this is a real boundary he will enforce. Vox isn't allowed to break Val's things.
Angel just has to call for him.
A shrill scream cracks in the air and Valentino flinches, half jolting towards the motel door, before realizing that it was just the storm. Fucking scream rain. He worries the tip of his thumb at the junction between his phone and the case, fiddling with the blunt plastic, resisting the childish urge to chew on his nails.
It's fine. He's being stupid.
Or: Vox leaves Valentino to pick up the pieces of his latest brainwashing session. Valentino takes Angel home.

Dread pools in Vox’s heart.
Minutes later, Vox gets an email that his account has been placed under review for threats of violence. He fumbles with the lock on his car door, kicks it open, and flings his phone across the barren street with a shriek of rage.
Or: Alastor's greatest joys in life are chasing tornadoes, risking his life, & making Vox regret being born. Vox plays whack-a-mole with TOS violations, accumulates credit card debt, & fails to blackmail anybody.
