Summary
And each week, Beatrice prepared herself to miss Ava, for while Ava wore her emotions on her sleeve she kept her history surprisingly closed-book. And so all Beatrice had was an impression that she stayed little and moved often, not one to bed roots in a city, let alone a wrestling school. And yet each week, Ava slipped into Cat’s Cradle like a stray, early enough to slink around Beatrice as she prepped for the session ahead. She chatted freely about her ambitions if not her past.
‘I want to wrestle at Hell in London,’ she would say simply, like the top English promotion was just a step on her predestined path. And Beatrice found herself believing it. In spite of her own experience: that Hell was out of her league, that she would never wrestle in Camden for one of the most dedicated audiences in all of British wrestling.

Summary
Her hands reached up, clasping either end of that infuriating tie. With barely a tug, Yoko let herself be pulled in, lips meeting hungrily, persistently, tenderly. Yes, buzzed Divina's thoughts as a sigh slipped unbidden from her mouth. She almost leaned away in a flare of embarrassment, but Yoko chased her down, kissing her once, twice, then drawing Divina’s lip between her teeth in a long, sensual claim.

'Talk to me Genie,’ Enid radioed in, hand clasped urgently to her earpiece. She’d made it to the regroup point, clothes ragged from scrambling across the rubble, and was panting heavily from strain. She looked around frantically. ‘I don’t see Viper.’
‘Viper is no longer responding to comms,’ Genie responded, his voice crackling in and out of signal. ‘Abort mission. Return to Nevermore, repeat; return to-’
An explosion from behind hit Enid with a wave of force.

Summary
In a canon divergence where Sofia tells the truth at a critical moment, Polly is kidnapped to fulfil a ritual's requirements.
-
And yet, Sir Wilmot is a beauty worth a thousand words, ten thousand words. An entire novel, bound in leather and embellished with silver. ‘Oh,’ Polly gasps. Oh. Words fail her—a rarity, to be sure—and she gapes like a goldfish in the face of God.
This was one of those novels.

Summary
“Now, I have to tell you… she wore out one painter before you.”
Vi’s brow furrows. “How so?” She can’t keep the question at bay.
Cassandra looks down at her tea. “To put it simply, she refused to pose. He never saw her face.”
Vi sits up a little straighter, concern tightening her muscles.
“Why won’t she be painted, exactly?” The image of the smudged face barrages her, filling her vision with blue and gold.
“She refuses this marriage,” she replies sternly, lines etched along her brow. Cassandra glances up to her own wedding portrait before meeting Vi’s gaze again. “You must paint her without her knowing.”

Summary
So yeah, maybe Santos had Garcia’s driver card stuck to her bedroom mirror during her formative teenage years, and maybe that headshot of Garcia with the trademark no-nonsense look on her face played some small part in her discovering her sexuality. And maybe in the back of her mind, she was thinking of Garcia when she declared her major in mechanical engineering, when she was pulling all-nighters with the FSAE team, when she was doing her PhD at the University of Pittsburgh before everything fell apart, again. Whatever, it’s not weird.

She was never supposed to be anything but a shadow. Now she’s the only person Lena Luthor trusts—and the one who lied to her most.
When climate tech billionaire Lena Luthor becomes the target of a calculated, escalating threat, she refuses the one thing that might save her: protection. Enter Kara Danvers—ex-black ops operative turned private intelligence agent—who takes the job under one condition: Lena can never know she’s there to protect her.
Disguised as a struggling writer, Kara infiltrates Lena’s world with surgical precision. What starts as surveillance quickly spirals into something more dangerous than the mission itself: intimacy. The closer Kara gets, the more tangled the lie becomes—until the night it all unravels in gunfire and betrayal.
