Ten months over deep cover and it was coming to an end, hopefully. And then the fucking Justice League bumbles in. Now, Jason has to figure out how to either escape or keep them busy until Batman and the other heavy hitters that know about him get back from their deep space mission. Should be easy. Since he hasn’t done anything that might have made any of the B-team vengeful. Right?... Right?

After the disastrous attempt to force Batman to kill the Joker, Red Hood is trying to pave his own way as Gotham's newest vigilante. Estranged from the Bat Family, Red Hood is attacked by the Court of Owls and saved by a familiar face. Although this Talon doesn't remember him, he still asks for help. Well, he did just save his life. How can Jason refuse?Inspired by my one shot "We're Even." It does not need to be read to understand this long fic.

Red Hood has changed his methods, and Batman can't figure out why.
Red Hood continues to run from Batman, avoiding confrontation at all costs. And with Batman needed for a Justice League mission, Nightwing needs to cover his patrol.
When Dick eventually sees Jason's face, he doesn't recognize him, and why would he. Jason has changed in the years he been gone, both physically and mentally.
How does this change his return to Gotham?
