Summary
Harry Potter and Tom Riddle.
Two sides of the same coin, abused and used in youth, stunted emotionality, and destined to always be at the end of each other’s wands, their opposition.
Harry didn’t come here to fall for his enemy, he came here to save the people he loved and to prevent Voldemort from ever rising.
No matter the cost, even if he had to kill Riddle, soon to be Voldemort.
But as he spends more and more time with him, he starts to have doubts, hesitating where he shouldn’t, and becoming closer to him, despite knowing he really shouldn’t. There’s only so far he can use the excuse that he’s becoming closer to Riddle to thwart his plans or kill him.
If he were doing that, he wouldn’t focus so much on the striking color of Riddle’s eyes, an impossible shade of ice blue and slate grey that seems to demand the attention as much as the person possessing them, or how he taps his fingers on the table when he’s thinking.And Harry isn’t the only one having such a dilemma.
They both refuse to speak of it, let alone admit it in their own minds, but love has a volition of it’s own, caring not for the notions they may carry. It demands to be known, damn the consequences.

“You were looking for an excuse to speak to him anyways, and I gave it to you,” Aphrodite rolls her eyes, disregarding most of his words, and handing Apollo her wine glass in order to pull a mirror out of her bag, checking her lipstick. He resists the urge to spill it over her dress. “And, he asked me for help, even left me offerings. Why wouldn’t I take a chance to make two negatives a positive?”
“He left you dinner leftovers.”
Aphrodite waves it off. “Same thing, really. My children keep leaving me make-up and chocolate. Other people leave flowers. They’re sweet, but at least Percy Jackson offers something less habitual. I hate boredom.”
“You love chaos, and plotting, like with Reyna,” Apollo translates, and starts drinking her wine because, what in Hades, might as well. He needs a drink. “So I was a negative that needed fixing?”
“You are, yes,” she nods, no remorse to it, and Apollo wonders why he decided to go through with this.

Achilles looked at him silently. He had an expression on his face that Patroclus could not quite place. It was a mixture of torment and muted searching, like he trying to solve the puzzle of the plain features of Patroclus’ face.
“No,” Achilles said in a solid voice. “My Patroclus is still here. I can see him, inside of you. I was wrong when I said you were dead to me, I can sense that his soul still lingers in this body,” Achilles gaze turned dangerous, his pupils thin, and Patroclus felt a shiver of something running down his spine. “I know you are there, Patroclus. I am determined to bring you back.”
