Dazai was standing by the window now, where the late afternoon light spilled in through thin curtains. The sunlight caught the dust in the air, caught the edges of his hair — soft brown shifting to gold — and framed him in warmth Kunikida had never associated with the man before.
He looked... peaceful.
No smirk. No half-lidded teasing look. Just Dazai, quiet and waiting, the light wrapping around him like it had decided to forgive him for something Kunikida didn’t yet understand.

“Yeah, sure,” Tommy agreed, knowing that if they said he was kidnapped, it would keep people from getting suspicious of why he was seen in public with Siren. “Anyway, can I get the chicken nuggets happy meal, with a coke?”

“The only fun kind,” she agreed. Gwen turned to him, her smile large and coaxing. “It’ll be great. I’ll get you back here as soon as you want – but it could be fun! Meet Miles, maybe another Peter if we have time.”
Peter really wanted to go to another universe, let’s be clear. But he a) had homework, b) didn’t need his brain to melt out of his ears, and c) had a dinner to get to in three hours.
