It felt strange to have him in his arms again. It felt like coming back home. Yet, what was home but broken stained glass windows. There was a hurt wedged deep inside his chest. A wooden stake of his own making.
Louis closed his eyes, breathing in the smell. Old hairspray still lingering in Lestat's perfect mane of hair. Something so achingly human. Something so far, far away. His mouth tried to close that distance by placing a kiss against Lestat's temple but his hair was getting in the way.

EPISODE 5 fix-it SPOILERS: continuation from the end of TVL episode 5. Ghost-Nicki keeps getting to have fun little commentary. Lestat and Louis start texting again; then hook up, and hug.
Lestat swallows, “My eyes?”
“Sure. Something pretty to look at.”
Licking his lips, “I mmm-might be a little, uh, misreading the situation.”
“You’re not.” Louis pulls Lestat’s hand so their fingers are entwined, resting on Louis’ thigh. “Can we try… something? Just to see. Doesn’t have to be a commitment. Like,” he searches the air for the right phrase, “Like an experiment?”
“I might have just made three new fledglings,” Lestat says. Whoops.

Summary
Lestat had been ready to leave. Louis knew if he'd waited even a minute longer he would've gone, would've retreated back into his angry, hurt self, and then it would've been too late. The look on Lestat's face as he'd turned to look at him—surprised, hopeful, and full of so much longing it'd nearly made Louis sick—when he'd sped up to him and grabbed him by the wrist…it'd given him all the confidence he'd needed to ask the question.
"Can I come with you?"
