    Summary

Safety was the chain on the apartment door and the deadbolt above it. Safety was the kettle on in the morning, the cheap one with the loose lid that rattled softly as it boiled. Safety was the folded blanket at the end of the couch, Emily’s socks drying on the radiator, the stack of coloring books someone from Victim Services had dropped off as if crayons were equal to the things the child had seen. Safety was the hall light left on through the night because Emily woke crying if the dark settled too completely in the corners.

Safety was routine. Tea, toast, medicine, curtains half open. Questions asked gently. No sudden movements. No men in tactical gear. No bright white corridors. No gurneys. No rooms with drains in the floor.

Grace kept arranging these little objects and habits around them as if she could build a wall from repetition.

The wall held until the thirteenth morning.

“How do I know you won’t use the plaga inside of me yourself?”
Wesker hums, “You don’t. But I’d much rather have you at my disposal in-tact.”
“My body, my mind–” Leon scowls, “you’d take my soul if you could.”
“Perhaps.” Wesker's smile doesn't fade, amused by the display, a cruel, sadistic sort of expression.
    “At least you admit it.”
    “At least.” Wesker agrees.

“Wesker,” Leon breathes, hoarse and aching, and it sounds like prayer, like sacrilege– a reverent calling to a cruel and merciless god, his body shuddering hard, a sound slipping from him as Wesker sinks his teeth into him hard enough to bleed. An offering of flesh for the appeasement of the soul.

After Elpis Leon returns to Raccoon City searching, for what? He couldn’t quite admit it, but the face of an old Captain flashed through his mind; just like it had when the message of an unknown surge in bio-chemicals was once again filling Raccoon City.

Leon travels back to Raccoon City discovering one of Umbrella’s underground labs, not yet destroyed and still operational. Inside he finds a broken and hurt Wesker.

Wesker doesn’t die in the volcano, and he and Leon had met before at the police station as a part of STARS years ago.

    Summary

Zeno's story was supposed to end with him decapitated, but by some unknown miracle, he got a second chance for a freed life.

The only issue he had with this second life was the fact that he was lost in the early 2000s and stuck in Valdelobos. He had worked very hard to survive and stay hidden from all possible sources that would endanger him. He fully intended to utilize the Spain Incident to secure financial resources as well as equipment before the Connections' arrival.

So when a younger pre-DSO agent stumbled upon his humble abode, Zeno believed that any volitaile action he took towards Agent Kennedy was reasonable. He just didn't expect the chemical chain of reaction it would cause...
