In the soft morning light, she gazed fondly at her little family, trying to commit all of these small details to memory: Caitlyn, her face soft and unguarded as she slept. Corinne, curled up into Caitlyn’s side, her freckled nose twitching slightly as she dreamed. And Cass, sprawled out on top of Vi’s body, her sleep-tangled hair and her chunky toddler limbs.
Vi wouldn’t trade this for anything. She’d give up the world if it meant she could stay forever in these soft, slow moments, surrounded by the people she loved so dearly.(A slow morning with the Kirammans.)

Vi’s eyes shifted over to meet Cait’s in the mirror, but her partner’s one eye was focused solely on red hair, following her hand’s motions, before jumping up to take in the rest of the mop. Vi tilted her head down, hand moving to grab her toothbrush as she spat into the sink. “I need a haircut. I look like a wet mutt,” Vi assessed, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
At that, Caitlyn twisted her head, finding Vi’s matter-of-fact gaze staring back at her. “Mm,” she voiced, two fingers pinching a lock of hair as she stepped into Vi’s space, smirk crawling onto her lips without her consent, really. “A sexy wet mutt,” she murmured, nipping at the crest of a freshly-cleaned ear, metal earrings clinking against her teeth, before kissing at Vi’s undercut.

Alex shrugs again, but Vi's been Alex before. She knows what a quick glance up at her and then away means. Please don't make me beg if you're going to say no.
"I guess."
"I'll go talk to her," Vi says, helping Alex takes the gloves off. "You can keep the wraps. If you need to hit anything, that will make it better."
"Kay."
"Kay," Vi parrots back. Alex trails after her. "What's your foster mum called?"
Vi yanks the door open, ready for a fight with a snooty old woman. She stops so suddenly that Alex barrels into her back. Because sure, the woman in front of her is snooty as fuck, but heavens is she pretty.
"Caitlyn," Alex says as she opens her arms for a running Lavender. "Caitlyn Kiramman."

Caitlyn feels her body going hot all over, her breath catching in her throat. Her strappy heels click together as she crosses her legs.
