When you become an adult, a lot of things change. You trade your previous set of priviliges and responsibilities for entirely new ones. Of course, usually this change is gradual, and people around you help you get used to this new way of lving. And even before you turn eighteen, they share their experiences with you in hopes to teach you what to expect and prepare you for the harsh world ahead of you.
But what do you do if your eighteenth birthday didn't go how you planned at all? What if the changes are so sudden and drastic you're not sure you can ever get used to them? If the burden of shame is so heavy that you can't help but wish to run from your previous life just to escape accountability? If nothing your parents ever told you about adulthood prepared you for this?And what do you do if the only person you can count on in all of this mess is your twin brother?

"Before they could reach the end of this room, with a loud thud, something crashed through the ceiling.
Virtual jumped back with a surprised yelp, covering their head to protect it from the debris. The dust settled, and they could clearly discern that there was now a figure standing in front of them, but It was hard to tell exactly what it was in the dark. But, whatever it was, to Network it seemed terrifying. Tall, almost taller than the ceiling it just crashed through. Its disheveled wings seemed large and heavy. It flapped them a few times to getting the dust and debris off of them.
Feathers ran down from its head to its neck, then seamlessly blended into its robotic body. It moved like a sick animal, strangely and erratically, its mechanic claws twitching with electricity, itching to tear something apart.
Its head, which had stayed down this entire time, slowly rose. Its eyes rapidly flickered, lighting up in pink and yellow colors.
Were they even eyes?"----

Summary
After escaping the briar orbs by pure chance, the former tetragogues attempt to live a normal life while they build plans and recover from the injuries they got in their last battle. Unfortunately none of them are any good at being normal, so even there they manage to screw up. New scars heal, but old scars that never really healed open up. The world doesn't stay the same, and the changes leave a sour taste in your mouth. Navigating a life of villany is never easy, no matter if you're a shaddrow, a tabulian or an eldrich slime being.
But maybe, just maybe, this all is going to work out for them in the end. Because even bastards deserve their little happy ending, right?
