As the Tarnished entered the dark room, feet padding softly across the cold stone floor, a voice rang out in the darkness.
"Mongrel intruder."
She stopped in her tracks, trying to puzzle out where the voice was coming from. Gaze drifting about the room, she turned to try and find its owner in the dim light. A soft sound caught her attention, and she turned back to see gentle candlelight whorl into shape about her, revealing a grand, circular room, adorned with candles at every turn.
Captured by the sudden light, she barely noticed the small, red serpent, drifting out toward her. As a flash of red slithered just out of her vision, she spun about quickly, only to come face-to-face with the serpent barely inches from her nose.
"Thou'rt Tarnished, it seemeth."
Mea, a Tarnished of no renown, finds herself in the jaws of a villain. What ensues would leave her indelibly scarred for the remainder of her years, though the memories would soon turn into something precious she kept close to her heart.

Ansbach had once been in her shoes many moons ago, hence he understood her apprehension.
“It is a little out of the ordinary.”
“Righteous Tarnished, I don’t think I would call the act of drinking blood ‘ordinary’ by any means. What’s troubling you?”
