“That was crazy! That was so cool!” Yuji grabs Okkotsu’s shirt, levering himself to his knees so they’re both gripping each other, knelt in the river the rain’s made of the road. The train rattles and screams overhead and over the noise, he shouts: “We fought a ghost, Okkotsu! We’re like… Ghostbusters!”
“What?!”
“We just beat up a ghost! That’s so cool!”
“No! What?! That—that’s not remotely what happened!” Okkotsu is so outraged he seems to have forgotten to be scared about his personal poltergeist eating a local ghost and almost killing his underclassman. The final car of the freight train finishes tearing past and into the rain and comparative silence, Okkotsu shouts, “You don’t get it, Itadori! I’m going to get you killed!”
Yuji blinks.
“No, you’re not.” He points at himself. “I’m too tough? Remember?”
AKA: The new generation of jujutsu monsters grew up feral and fighting curses together in Sendai. I'm sure this will have no major ramifications for the world as a whole.

Summary
Battered, bruised and barely scraping by, Yuji Itadori held onto his humanity with an iron grip. Battling curse-like instincts and the consequences of his soul's desperate last measure, he found himself stuck in the Heian Era. Unfortunately, he lost a major chunk of his memories, making him wildly misinterpret the remmaining ones.
Luckily for him, his soul wasn't the only one crying out for company, making his journey much more enjoyable.Or, Yuji (now a half-curse) happens upon a not yet emotionally closed-off Sukuna, who mistakes him as his parent.

The past, present, and future of Itadori Yuuji in 2005.
//His present is really quite simple. Collect Sukuna's fingers and die in the past, so the future he came from never comes to pass. Easy enough, if only he actually knew what he was doing, Geto Suguru wasn't such a nice person, Gojo Satoru wasn't an interesting flip of the Gojo-sensei he knows, Ieiri Shoko wasn't a laid-back person with cliche healing powers, and Itadori Yuuji wasn't such a self-suicidal idiot.
Really, who would have thought it all started with a car, crepe, and a cat too curious for its own good.
