Summary
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power was a great success for Netflix and DreamWorks, but now the show is over, the set has been dismantled, and the cast and creators have moved on to other projects. Well, all except one. Her name is Elizabeth Applesauce. She's not Catra, but she played her on TV, and now that that's done, she doesn't know what to do.
I'm writing this story for two reasons. The first is because of my fascination with the idea of what happens to a character once their story ends, not in a literal epilogue-y way, but in a metafictional sense. If we choose to think of characters as people, what happens from their perspective once the story ends? Do they just keep living their lives away from the camera, or does their reality just terminate, just as a book that's reached it's final page?
The second reason is a reckoning with my own life. This is a story about stagnation, and how the end of an era can send a person into a directionless unreality. This is a story about the reckoning one must do when they've reached a crossroads in their life. This is a story about the existential nightmare that is finding what fulfills you.
