Summary
Ava was the cherished daughter of a powerful family that secretly led a covert organization guarding a top-secret chip. When assassins attacked, the chip was hidden inside her arm to protect it—separating her from her parents, her protective sisters Shannon and Sam, and the life she knew.
Betrayal from within exposed her location. Her bodyguard was killed, and in the chaos, Ava was left behind on a remote farm, where a kind elderly couple took her in and raised her as their own.
Now growing up far from her past, Ava carries a dangerous secret beneath her skin… while somewhere, her family is still searching for the girl they lost.

Summary
You should really wake her.
No let her sleep it off
Wake her up, let her sleep
Beatrice rolled onto her back and looked up at the surfboards above her hanging within the van.
Ava was in a deep sleep and she could be there for hours. Was Beatrice really going to just lie here with her? She smiled at this thought.
Would that be so bad?
Yes, well no, but you need to get up and go for a surf.
Beatrice knew she needed to familiarise herself with the beach and the waves. More time surfing the break would help her in the contest.
“Please don’t tell me you’ve kidnapped me?” Beatrice’s stomached dipped at the raspy voice and she quickly shook herself out of her thoughts, forcing her head towards the voice, finding brown, but also very bloodshot eyes looking back at her.
No but I wouldn’t mind tying you up.Bookmarked by Bears1

Summary
Beatrice lowered the phone, her frame still as a statue. She stayed like that for a long moment, staring at the darkened screen as the rain splattered against her boots.
"Is everything okay?" Ava asked, her voice small and fragile against the backdrop of the storm.
Beatrice seemed to snap from her distant thoughts, her head jerking slightly as if she’d been physically pulled back from a great height. She nodded, shoving her phone into her pocket with a frantic, desperate haste, as if the device itself were made of burning coal.
"Yes," Beatrice said, though the word was thin and lacked any conviction.
There was a long, suspended moment of silence as they stared at each other in the rain. The water was starting to soak through Ava’s denim, but she didn't care. She was focused on the way Beatrice looked. Fragmented, as if the call had cracked the very foundation of her poise.
"Strict parents?" Ava asked carefully.
Beatrice nodded, her gaze fixed on the grey mist of the world around them.
"Quite, yes," she admitted.
