He reconciled himself to this fact by telling himself that he never wanted them anyway. This strategy worked for most of his life. Until he met Luke Skywalker, that is.
Or: Most people go to therapy to deal with the intimacy issues and guilt their religious upbringing gave them. Din just has kinky magical sex with his space wizard husband.
