At the ripe age of 79, acting legend Dazai has long been considered an icon of refined glamor since the late 50s.
Over the course of his career, Dazai has had his fair share of public scandals, most notable of which being his seven wives, of course. Including his decades-long spanning relationship with Hollywood film producer Oda Satsuki. The two stars had a son named Dazai Atsushi, who recently passed away last year from breast cancer at 41.
Born as Tsushima Shūji to Japanese immigrants in 1938, Dazai grew up in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, and practically overnight became a Hollywood sensation. His time in the spotlight lasted another three decades before he married Ozaki Kōyō, older sister of three-time Oscar winner Nakahara Chūya, and settled down into retirement in the late 80s.
Today, Dazai is living in Manhattan, a seven-time widower basking comfortably in long-preserved glory, and donating much of his wealth to various charities.
