   Summary

   Fed up with police brutality and oppression by the ruling class, the citizens of Faraway Town organized and started a commune.

   Inspired by various political and historical events, including, but not limited to: Paris and Lyon Commune, the 1905 and 1917 Russian Revolutions, the entire history of Weimar Germany, the 1918 German Revolution, the rise of fascism and Nazism in Europe, the Red Scare of 1910s and 1950s, 1961 Paris Massacre, the Protests of 1968, Sanrizuka Struggle, First Quarter Storm, "Minjung" and Gwangju Uprising, among many others, as well as cultural, historical, and political media such as Les Miserables (1862 novel), The Debacle (1892 novel), The Civil War in France (1871 pamphlet), The State and Revolution (1917 book), Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism (1917 book), Land and Freedom (1995 film), I'm Still Here (2024 film), and Through the Darkest of Times (2020 game).
