“Fine,” he whispered, his voice low and cold. “If I’m so impossible, so difficult, then I’ll leave.” He threw the bag over his shoulder and stepped to the window. The night air was crisp as he pushed it open, the cool breeze brushing against his face. He hesitated, just for a moment.
A part of him wondered if anyone would even notice. Jason’s words echoed one final time.
"No one is coming for you."
Then again.
"No one loves you."
With a steady breath, Damian stepped onto the ledge. He didn’t look back.
His mother had made it clear, he wasn’t meant to need anyone. To want anyone. Dependency was weakness.
However, Manor, it was different.
Or it was supposed to be anyway.
And then he was gone, vanishing into the night like a shadow slipping between the cracks.
