Summary
In the wake of Peter Parker erasing himself from the memories of his friends and family, not to mention the entire universe, he's doing as well as can be expected. Three years later, he's attending ESU, trying to work three jobs alongside getting two degrees, and still going out as Spider-Man. He's fine, really. Everything is just fine. That is until a run-in with the law and a DNA test shatter the carefully constructed facade that Peter had made his life.

“Your blood matches a sample the FBI has on file from a kidnapping case.” Agent Carisi opens the thicker file. “A four-year-old boy taken while on vacation with his father about twenty years ago.”
Peter’s breathing speeds up.
“Authorities took fingerprint and DNA samples from the boy’s room, and at the father’s behest, we continue to test them against any that are placed within any system we have access to.”
A piece of paper with lab results lays atop the file. It gets picked up and placed on the table.

Summary
After the incident at the Washington Monument where Peter saves his class from falling to their deaths in the elevator, Tony is upset and angry and sends Rhodey, who lives in DC, to drive Peter back to New York right away. Rhodey is told not to ask any questions, and that this is an emergency.
When Rhodey had been told to pick up some guy named Peter Parker, he thought he'd be picking up a scientist, or some super powered vigilante. He's surprised when he rolls up and finds a fifteen year old kid that looks eerily similar to Tony when he was a teenager.
OR
Rhodey gets the wrong impression and chaos ensues as soon as he gets Peter back to New York.
OR
Peter almost gives Tony a heart attack twice in one day.

Fury snorted. "I don't care what you do with him Stark, just keep him out of my hair. Put him up in the compound, take him to the tower with you, it doesn't matter.”
"And just like that," Tony threw his arms up into the air, "I have complete control? I can drop him off in Antarctica or send him away to boarding school?"
Fury turned and stalked towards the door, "Whatever. He's your ward now." And just like that the compound had suddenly become Tony Stark's Home For Wayward Superhuman Teens. Great. Just wonderful.OR
Fury drops 14 year old Peter Parker off on Tony’s doorstep and doesn’t give him a choice but to look after the young superhero. (This happens just post Civil War. Peter didn’t go to Germany, and until this story, Tony has never met Peter).
