    I hadn't thought much of it when I left that Darkness. That little note with an asterisk at the bottom of the manual was an easy quirk to forget; so harmless that anyone who noticed would ignore it.

    See, I had lived pretty comfortably as an alpha. Consistent, predictable ruts that could be tolerated by popping a few Advil. Not to mention, it was much easier to mess with Baek Saheon by asserting dominance with pheromones.

    And well, the universe must've felt I had it too easy.
