It wouldn't be the last time he wasn't able to stop it - to predict what would happen, let his mind piece together a crime scene before it turned more deadly than it already was.
If not every time, if only this one instance - he, at least, should have been able to stop Watson from opening that door.

Shane has done his best to avoid two people after his own emotions scared him away. After isolating himself from the two people who want him most, one of them finds him on the cliffs and the other makes sure he lives through the night. But when he wakes up, with them in his clinic room, he realizes he might've missed out on a good thing. A passionate confession in response to self loathing, and suddenly Shane has an idea.

Harvey is alone. Not by his own choosing, but alone nonetheless. The farmer doesn't seem to see him as anything more than a friend (no matter what Maru says) and he can tell from miles away that she's in love with Shane, a man that he fell for but didn't want him either. But when the two of them are falling apart, he knows he'll be piecing them back together, even if it takes a piece of him with it.
