Summary
The joke was on him, a bitter lesson learned too late. Aerion should have walked away. The bird's wings were not truly broken, and the wretched cat had been left clawing at empty air, caught by the talons instead.
Or, Aerion only wanted a purse full of silver. Getting caught by Prince Duncan was not part of the plan.

Summary
After being dishonored, Arion had no choice but to accept the union with Ser Duncan, the next and only Stark heir to Winterfell. It was that or be confined for life to serve gods he didn't believe in, in silence for all eternity. Arion expected the climate to be cold and his relationship with his future husband to be entirely transactional and devoid of any feeling. But he hadn't counted on the wind beginning to stalk him the moment he set foot in the North, as if they wanted him far away. Much less on the addictive scent of his future husband's essence, which seemed made especially for him.
Duncan didn't believe in the new gods and resented the old ones, for they had never heeded one of his pleas… except for the time he begged the man who had stolen his soul so many years. Now that he was finally going to be his husband, he intended to accept this gift from the gods, even though his own husband was determined to make it a curse.

Summary
On the eve of what would be remembered as The Hedge Knight, while Lord Beron Stark lay dying of wounds that would not close—
There was Dunk.
A bastard son, born of a woman long forgotten. Tall from the first, broad and solemn, he had been called “Dunk the Tall” in rough jest before ever his blood was set to parchment. The jest faded. The name endured.
Now he was simply Dunk.
The old gods had given him back—not as a shadow in the wolfswood, but in flesh and breath. Stark blood ran cold in his veins. Within him lingered the memories of another life: Ser Duncan the Tall, hedge knight, bearer of battered honor.
And deeper still lay knowledge.
He knew what was coming.
Dunk of Winterfell.
Bastard.
Stark.
Reborn beneath the silent gaze of the old gods—who do not forget, and do not forgive.
