And then the girl turned around, and Sokka’s eyes widened when it quickly registers in him that he just called someone a girl when they are definitely not a girl. Not a girl.
Or: Sokka's bisexual awakening may have just happened at a random frat party. And because he may have just called Zuko, a stranger he thought was a girl from afar- a pretty girl. This is awkward, but Sokka realizes Zuko could be a pretty boy too. What does that mean about him?

“Don’t you explore the other on campus cafes?” Zuko can’t help but ask one day as Sokka approaches, which seems to catch Sokka off guard. “There’s one by that physics building.”
“Now why would I check those out?” Sokka asks with wide eyes, before his lips form that coy smile. “Why would I bother when I know I can see you at this one?” Zuko holds back a groan.
“What do you want.” He asks, more of a statement than a question, which makes Sokka clutch his chest dramatically.
Or: Zuko works at an on-campus cafe and Sokka is an Engineering student who's made it his mission to come to this exact location almost every single day. Why? Zuko doesn't know. All he knows is that Sokka is sometimes a pain in his ass. And he's kind of.. nice too.

Sokka loves messing with his boyfriend -- Zuko is so fun to tease and poke at. Zuko allows it.. until he allows him to join him for a meeting and Sokka toys with him for the full hour.
That’s when Zuko realizes Sokka thinks he can just do what he wants, and that he has to get this snarky, cocky attitude out of Sokka.
