Summary
Kenma didn’t think of this feeling as a crush, though. It was overwhelming and all encompassing, but it didn’t feel romantic. The closeness he desired was just that, closeness. It didn’t matter how he got it, or how it was expressed. Every text, every call, every update on his progress was all worth something to him. All he wanted to do was listen to Shouyou. He was interested in his passion, and how the other seemed to have it for everything in his life. If Kenma could see him everyday, he would.
But it wasn't a crush. That, he insisted.

Summary
Shouyou really was an interesting person. His entire person bursted with energy, but not the kind that drained it from those around him, causing them to fall silent and glum. He made everyone else stronger, too. Not to mention how warm and beautiful his features were, softly chiseled with an air of confidence. Kenma already coyly admired him from the moment he walked into Nekoma’s office, presenting himself as a humble actor, but if that respect now came with a slight flush, he’d handle it. He never tried to hide his feelings, just made sure he was as honest and uncomfortable as possible.
That usually drove people away without him having to do anything

Shoyo considered Kenma's question a little more carefully. “I guess as long as the person is not being stupid about it, I don’t really care." Shoyo looked over. “Why?”
“I smoke sometimes.”
Three years.
Three entire years of friendship. Three years of train rides to Tokyo, Miyagi, tournaments, text messages, gaming sessions, and random conversations at odd hours of the night. And somehow Shoyo was still learning new things about him. The tattoo. The piercings. The fact that he apparently talked about him enough for his tattoo artist to recognize Shoyo upon seeing him. The fact that he smoked. That one especially didn’t surprise him.

They talk. They smoke. They play. They snack. They get a little too honest when they’re high and things stop feeling complicated. Somewhere through half-finished sentences, this is not just hanging out anymore. But it wouldn't be Kenma if Kenma doesn't call Kuroo, panicking, while Kuroo teases one of his favorites. hehe
