Set right after Robert’s Rebellion. Jaime never expected to be released from his Kingsguard vows, but when his father died during the burning of the Lannister Fleet, Jaime found himself Lord of Casterly Rock. Following his new King’s orders, Jaime takes a trip to the North before finally getting to head home. There he meets someone he never expected, a little boy. A bastard, who appeared to be all alone in the world. Jaime didn’t know what possessed him, but he found himself ready to go to war with the North if it meant saving this unloved child. He takes the boy back to Casterly Rock with him only to discover that this boy is no mere bastard, but the secret trueborn son of the one man Jaime has respected his whole life, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Jaime had already fallen in love with the sweet boy as if he was his own son. Now more than ever he was going to see that the boy’s destiny was fulfilled. That he avenged his family and took back what was rightfully his. Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen would be crowned the King of the Seven Kingdoms and that was an oath that Jaime Lannister was never going to break.

The statue of his aunt felt special.
It was, to Jon’s knowledge, the only female statue ever erected in the crypt of the Starks. Traditionally, anyone with Stark blood that wasn’t claimed by another house was buried in the crypt, but only the lords and the kings could have their likeness put to stone. Even Brandon, who had only been Lord of Winterfell for a few moments before his death, had the right to a statue.
Ned Stark had made an exception for Lyanna. So great was the love that Ned had for his sister that he had defied centuries of tradition to be able to see her when he grieved.
