Ela começou a patinar ainda criança, numa pequena cidade do interior de Vermont, onde os invernos pareciam infinitos e os lagos congelavam até o limite da imaginação. Sua mãe dizia que ela patinava como se estivesse desenhando pensamentos na superfície fria, como se cada movimento fosse uma forma de dizer o que não cabia em palavras.Mas a vida mudou — como sempre muda quando se está no fim da adolescência.
O pai recebeu uma proposta de trabalho em outro estado; um daqueles empregos que prometem estabilidade, mas cobram distância. E Temari, aos dezessete, teve de se despedir do seu treinador, das amigas do clube de patinação e do gelo que conhecia de olhos fechados.Agora, tudo é novo: o colégio, a cidade, o clima mais ameno, o sotaque diferente.

She grinned at him, something candid and believing, leaning forward slightly. “And, just so you know,” her voice was hushed as if she was telling him a secret, “a C+ GPA doesn’t condemn you to a C+ life.”

OR: Shikamaru is one of six friends without a girlfriend, but he's quite content with that outcome (or so he thinks). As far as he's concerned, college life is drinking and smoking and averaging a C+ GPA with minimal effort. It isn't until a professor asks him to tutor for the class he's in that Shikamaru finds himself in a bit of girl trouble, on top of trying to figure out his own life and the ghosts that haunt him.

Summary
The Fourth Kazekage never died, and history changed with him.
After Orochimaru’s failed attack on the Leaf, the Sand Siblings were sent to aid Shikamaru’s squad against the Sound Five as a gesture of peace. That mission was the last time Temari and Shikamaru saw each other. Then came war. The Akatsuki declared it. The Sand joined them. And now, years later, Temari is sent to assassinate Konoha’s top strategist.
