Summary
Trusting in Future Max is easy for Chloe, it's like breathing. Even if being asked to abandon her vengeance is hard, she'll do it. But being there to give some half-assed comfort to the Max whose life is slowly ticking away is another challenge altogether.
Knowing that she's only a Max that's been left behind, that once the other one is done she’s going to take her body, her life, for her own has Max terrified.
So Chloe will sit with her grief and wait, all the while doing her best to distract Not-Max from the barrel of nonexistence sitting level with her head.
It’s fucked up.
