Anyway, warning, there will be a lot of torture in the beginning. For the first few chapters. Actually, maybe only the first chapter. Idk, however committed I am. Also if you're an elriel, gwynriel, ect, I will warn you, this is focused on Az's character. While relationships are important to that, most of the Az ships have little to no canonical evidence (Well, I'm a bryceriel so I would argue against that, but I'm trying to keep this neutral as possible) for them, so what is canon will be included, but no more and no less. But again, this is Azriel-centric. So anyway, yeah, enjoy this rollercoaster or angst and backstory! -

Summary
A little Story for Halloween
After the great fire in Edo, Mizu vanished from Taigen’s life—and from the rest of Japan. His life went on in Edo until, during a mission, he ended up in the dungeon of a renegade lord. No wonder he mistakes the man who comes to free him for a hallucination. Just like everything that follows. Part of it stems from the extensive Japanese belief in the worlds of spirits and demons; the other part consists of the side effects that occur when Taigen encounters Mizu.

Summary
After her quest for revenge, Mizu returns to Japan. In Nagasaki, she is intercepted and taken to Edo. Akemi forces her to join her husband’s guard. Neither the samurai nor Taigen are pleased about this. Because Taigen assumes that she has been in Japan the whole time and has only returned to claim another victim of her revenge. No one knows that Mizu is in Edo against her will, and Mizu doesn’t know what Akemi really wants from her. After all, Akemi seems desperate enough to want to control someone as uncontrollable as Mizu.

Taigen follows Mizu to London. His gods have abandoned him. First, His ship ist captured by Pirates, then they are trapped by the English navy, and to make Matters worse, he is thrown into prison.
Where are His gods and where is Mizu?
Luckily for him, he seems to matter enough to Mizu that she’s trying to get him out of prison. Maybe it’s the memory of Taigen letting himself be tortured for her sake; maybe she’s just glad not to be alone in a foreign country; and maybe, despite their mutual attraction, the two of them just can’t help but constantly misunderstand each other.
