They have no idea what those discs are, but someone wants them very bad. The disks only seem to respond to Tommy though, which means they also want him. Kristen isn't letting anyone take her son, even if that means going on the run and ending up on a planet in restricted space filled with humans with a concussion. No problem, they still have one charged disk.
The humans are far nicer then either of them expected though, willing to offer a home and safety from intergalactic forces. Maybe staying on Earth won't be so bad after all...Or, I wanted alien au with Mumza, couldn't find alien au with Mumza, and went Fine I'll Do It Myself

Summary
Around ten years after his past relationship ended, Phil gets a call from a social worker letting him know that his old girlfriend's son is in the foster system, and that he'd remembered Phil's phone number. Phil's wife, Kristin, is very supportive of the idea of bringing home Phil's long-lost bonus son.
Sixteen-year-old Techno Blade may have given his social worker Phil's number, but after ten years since he'd last seen his almost-step-father, he's not quite as certain of the idea. Lucky for him, the Craft family is ready to show him that they do, in fact, want him to be a part of their family.

Sleepy bois inc are supervillains, and hold Tommy (previously with the heroes) hostage. However, upon discovering that Tommy is traumatised, they just decide "fuck it we're keeping him" and do so.
Also Tommy is selectively mute due to Dream being a fuckin dickhead.
