Lucas learns he can read people's thoughts, and from an early age, he knows his way through the hallways of the mind. How will he deal with those abilities and those who pursue it no matter the cost? This is a story of loss, healing, and bonds.
This is a rewrite of a fic I wrote ~8 years ago.

Summary
At the age of thirty-three, the Masked Man, lead commander in the army received a letter informing him that someone had news about who he was, his origins, and wanted to tell him about The Boy Named Lucas, whom he killed years ago. In a world where resistance forces were few and far between, and with his interest piqued, he opted to investigate, only to discover the painful truth of his origins before the military took him in.
A story about the Masked Man living in a Bad End of Mother 3, learning how to become human again by entering a world where he can make amends.

Extremely underrated. The only mother series fic that has made me cry (so far). Though incomplete, this remains one of my favorite character studies of Claus, with beautifully-written emotional beats.

My favorite depiction of Gold/Silver. The author brings this AU to life while skillfully weaving in canon in-game references. Gold's thought processes are also a delight to read as he grows and matures.

Summary
Being forced to relive memories, facing an antagonist beyond comprehension, and almost dying were pretty par for the course in Lucas's universe. Meeting new people was as well, but there was something about being unwillingly dragged into a battle nobody knew existed that brought even people from different universes together.

One of the best depictions of Ness/Lucas I've read. All the smash kids are lovable, well-rounded characters, and Lucas's interaction with his family is always a gem to read.
