They don’t happen often—once a month or so, with varying degrees of spottiness. Sometimes Dick will walk into a room and forget what he’s there for. He’ll forget the locations of things, like where he left his keys or where the refrigerator is. Once he forgot his own name.
Even if the episodes don’t occur often, that doesn’t make them any less terrifying.
His name is Dick Grayson. He is at Wayne Manor. It’s five in the morning.

Summary
“Ah shit,” Stephanie's unmistakable voice, the same stunted line, the same disappointed tone, “He's breathing again.”
The Joker coughs. It rattles at his broken ribs, making him choke on the blood and sick in his mouth, but it's proof of his victory — so the cough morphs into a sickening laugh. He says something that's more of a grumble than words, but Helena clicks her teeth loudly.
“We should have let him die,” She says stiffly.
Bruce closes his eyes for a moment, disappointment found in the creased stress of his face, then, relief.
Despite Dick's best efforts, Joker is alive. Again.
(Dick kills the Joker. Then again. And again. And—)

Dick shrugs, fiddling with the sleeves of his sweater, "I guess. I've never had my own room before. It is very… cold."
"I can tell Alfred to turn the heating up in here," Bruce immediately says, grimacing when Dick looks almost embarrassed, eyes trained down on the rug in the middle of the room.
"No! No, not cold like that," he grumbles, hunching in on himself, "It is lonely, being the only one. I used to sleep next to mama and papa."
Bruce imagines knocking himself out with an inflatable hammer, "Oh. Right."
(Bruce stops a city from drowning, goes to the circus and becomes a toy maker — in that order.)

Bruce does not remember anything leading up to this moment. He does not remember teaming up with Superman recently, nor does he remember being anywhere but Gotham proper.
He does remember having Robin at his side. Robin, it turns out, is not there any longer.

And to make matters worse, Dick is nowhere to be found.
