So, when the lightning strike finally provided the impetus for Bobby to admit that he also brought a kid into their family, she had every intention of seizing the opportunity to properly integrate Buck into the Grant-Nash family.

It’s while Buck’s telling Eddie about the latest book he’s reading — the third in a murder mystery series he picked up during a slow shift last week — that he hears it.
From the look on Eddie’s face as he’s loading his groceries into the car, he hears it, too. “Is that a cat?”
Buck’s made himself comfortable on his couch — ready to spend the rest of his afternoon listening to Eddie’s voice, teasing him about his cooking abilities, soaking him all in, until it’s time for him to collect Chris — but he gets up quickly, because he knows that meow. Has become very familiar with it over the past month and a half. Just… not when he’s inside his apartment.
