What if after being told by Ross that she was a liability, Maya chose to prove her wrong. That she was not the kind of Marine that would endanger other Marines and get them killed. What if she decided the only way to show her boss she was wrong was by proving it to her in exactly those terms. Basically I took that scene hard and in my mind, instead of Maya constantly trying to prove her wrong and having a mental health crisis trying to do so, she finds another way. By stepping back and joining the Marines (with Carina's support duh).

and I asked myself this question in the context of our favorite couple Carina and Maya.What would have happened to them if not for the pandemic, because it was the reason of them moved in together so quickly, Carina (in my opinion) forgave Maya too quickly, because she felt lonely during the pandemic.
