    Summary

    I lived with this hunger long before the Hail Mary. This is nothing new. I’m fine.

    Right up until Rocky asks another question.

    “When last time you touch other human person skin, question?”

    Oh. Oh no. “When I… a few days after I first woke up here.”

    Rocky starts to relax for a split second, but then tightens when something occurs to him.

    “Grace crewmates dead when you wake up. You said this, statement. You not even know your own name, remember nothing, see dead bodies, confirm?”

    I nod, because if I open my mouth I will gag.

    “When last time Grace touch ALIVE human person, question.”

    I swallow thickly. I don’t answer aloud because I know Rocky can hear the hitch in my breath. My stomach churns with fresh bile. He senses my vital signs tick over into stress patterns and goes very, very still again.

    “Grace. When last time, question.”

    I clench my jaw so hard my temples ache, and beg him with my eyes to just stop.

    “Grace. Please say not when… when Evil Stratt humans put you to sleep.”

    I can taste grass.

    Summary

    Obi-Wan scarcely a few years into his desert exile is (quite unexpectedly) thrown back in time to the height of the Clone Wars. This is, in fact, SO unexpected that he reasonably (if incorrectly) assumes he is experiencing a spice-induced hallucination. After enjoying spending time with his lost loved ones, he decides he really needs to wake up before he dies of dehydration. When intense meditation fails, he tries to break the illusion through more...EXTREME measures (check the tags). Panic from all parties ensues.

    Ichigo looks down at the substitute Shinigami badge, the little skull blankly staring up at him. He’s held onto it for all these months, maybe out of hope, maybe because of something else he can’t name. Either way, it hasn’t done him any good. The river is near silent as it flows, only the occasional slap of water against the bank interrupts the silence. Ichigo thinks this is a fitting place to part with his little memento. The badge is resting flat on his palm.

    Ichigo doesn’t hesitate.

    He tips his hand and the little pentagon falls. It doesn’t hardly make a splash in the water. Without looking back Ichigo walks away.

    Up ahead in the trees a path opens.
