Summary
'There's a notification clogging up his screen.
Dennis Whitaker (R1): Hey, just wanted to check in with you after yesterday. It was intense. And also, that thing you were asking about? I feel like Trin kinda got in your head about it. Amy's really just a friend. She needs help on the farm, with a baby, and I'm pretty good at farmwork. That's all.
It's entirely too much justification for your boss.'
Robby finally makes it to his sabbatical.
Whitaker finds himself a little adrift without his boss around.
Jack is just trying to make sure the both of them are happy.

Summary
"You want me to go?"
That's the last thing Jack wants. "Stay, please, you know you're always welcome."
Robby relaxes, and he carries on stirring
Jack interrupts the quiet once more with the other question that's been on the tip of his tongue.
"Why haven't you left?"
Robby freezes. He doesn't turn around, doesn't look at Jack, like it's easier to be honest this way.
"Because I think if I go, I won't come back."
******
After the end of 2x15. Robby turns up at Jack's house instead of going on his sabbatical and then just....doesn't leave

Summary
Jack's heart stopped.
Walsh demanded that the intercom be cut off.
Robby had to watch his husband die.
Every single second counted.
Robby couldn't hear what was going on.
Robby couldn't see the monitors well enough to discern exactly what was happening.
Robby desperately wanted to run, to pass out, to dissociate, to simply die than to face what was next, but he had to be present, he had to bear witness.
Or,
After their lives are finally settling into some semblance of happiness, Jack nearly dies.

Summary
Robby goes to help with triage, and Dennis and the others disperse to help treat what they can. It’s a blur after that of stitches and setting broken bones and putting shock blankets on shoulders. Presby brought a portable X-ray machine, one that connects to a phone. Sent along a tech to read the images too. Means they can access and treat broken bones in the field, instead of having to send them on to the hospitals. Means they can save transporting for the injuries that really need it.
