    Summary

You're dead, or at least, circumstances tell you that you are.
You don't remember dying. You barely remember living. But you remember an old friend.

The worst thing you can do in Heaven is question something.
    It's usually a one-way trip downward.
And you had to go and name-drop one one of Hell's most powerful overlords.

    -----

A story in which you slowly teach an Eldritch horror he is capable of love...
and the King of Hell he is deserving of it.

    Summary

    “Morning sweetheart.”

You turn, and the very first voice you hear sends your pulse racing. it hits you like the crack of a whip and your shoulders stiffen.

Douglas sighs under his breath. “Ah. And that,” he says in a tone of resigned amusement, “would be our resident… meteorological personality.”

    You pivot.

Vincent Whittman leans casually against a camera rig, hands in his pockets, tie loosened, smirk firmly in place. Like he owns the air you’re breathing.
“Well,” he drawls, pushing off the rig and strolling over, “if it isn’t my favorite morning disruption.” Irony driping of his mouth.

    Your jaw clenches.
Douglas gestures politely but entirely uninterested.
“Miss, this is Mr. Vincent Whittman—our weather reporter.”

Vincent steps closer, mismatched eyes gleaming with amused recognition.

    Of course.

All of New York City, millions of people, and the one arrogant prick you managed to piss off before eight in the morning turns out to be a higher-ranked coworker.
