Summary
He almost laughed when he felt Nanami lower his hand to grip his shoulder, his pen scratching shaky and stunted as he continued to work. Gojo had to give his friend credit, he could be determined to a fault when he wanted to be. But so could the Six-Eyes user, and what that user wanted was to have Nanami’s full attention, to have his eyes on him while he took him apart with his mouth, to have his affection focused solely on Gojo as much as he could handle. He didn’t often like the attention of the other sorcerers, their desire to claim him and his cursed powers like a weapon, but Nanami saw through that. He saw what Gojo really was; a man with too much power and not enough challenge, someone just as dejected as him…. a lonely man.

“Do you mind explaining why Hypnos looks like he was just dragged up from the Lethe?” Her tone was tinted with something that Zagreus would be hesitant to label as concern but certainly bordering close to it. It was the most they were likely to get out of her in a public space, which was impressive.
“It seems I managed to wear Hypnos out, although it was not my intention whatsoever,” Zagreus said with a mock sigh, tilting his head to look at Meg through his lashes. “Remind me to ask Nyx or Than about Hypnos’s health once this is over, I’m becoming concerned over it. We walked over from the front hall, and he started to become shaky, and now he’s barely able to stay awake for more than a second.” He gently shook Hypnos with his shoulder to make his point, receiving a disgruntled grumble in return.

“You know, it's mighty rude to help yourself to a man’s hard-earned garden.” Eddie whispered conspiratorially, settling the hand that had been brushing the mane down onto the horse’s flank, patting steadily. “One might not be so inclined to be as forgiving as me.”

As she watched Kanao sprint after Tanjiro and his group as they left the Butterfly Mansion, she couldn’t help the dread that settled in the pit of her stomach like a stone. Maybe this was the time that her sister wouldn’t be coming back, maybe this was the time that instead of a beautiful smile and lovely wisteria eyes, a crow would fly back to announce the death of her tsuguko. Just like their eldest, just like Rengoku, just like all the others.

Jake turned, scrabbling for his radio - it having fallen onto the floor of the passenger seat from the impact. His hand had just wrapped around it when he heard the sound of the driver’s door opening.
Jake jerked up, back of his arm and hand slicing open on a jagged piece of the insides of the car, pressing down on the transmission button. “Collision on Winston Street, suspect Tyler Gordon invo-” Jake’s words were cut off with a cry of pain as a hand grabbed the back of his head and slammed it down onto the steering wheel again.
