What if Triwizard Tournament, but Hunger Games?
Centuries ago, instead of hiding from muggles with the Statute of Secrecy, wizards used a ritual to create a dimension for all magical beings to live openly. But maintaining that freedom comes at a lethal price. Every seven years, the worthiest students in Europe have the great honour of being selected to compete in a tournament: three deadly tasks, two months of training, one victor. He needn't have worried. The small one was strong.
He sees the human many more times since then. It seems as if the herd doesn't venture out without it. He wonders if that one is the pack-leader. It seems logical, but humans are not always creatures of logic.
He forces back memories of that one, and continues to shadow the herd whenever it ventures out. He makes a habit of waiting in the small grouping of trees near the gate so as not to miss one of their outings. Eventually he learns to distinguish the small one from the others even before it takes to the air, and he feels proud of this accomplishment.
Months later, only hours after the humans had returned behind their walls, everything changes.
(In which Eren is not a human that can turn into a Titan, but a Titan that can turn into a human.)

At 13 when the tests show that Yuuji’s a Filament, he believes everything the Sorcerer in the old-fashioned clothes who smells of incense and mosquito coils tells him. That it’s an honour, a privilege. That his life will be dedicated to the greatest purpose possible: bringing light to one born into darkness.

“Go ahead, unseal him!" Sukuna laughs, delighted. "I’ve been bored to death in this timeline, anyway. I’ll rip your precious Sensei to shreds the moment he steps out of that thing!” Sukuna's eyes look all wrong on Itadori’s cheeks, filled with malice and the sick pleasure of his fantasies.
