Walking into Crase Café with the others in tow, Miku folded one arm across her chest, holding onto the crook of the elbow of her opposite arm as she pinched the bridge of her nose. She sighed heavily, that day’s practice weighing on her. She had wanted to push through it, but had eventually gotten so fed up trying to keep things in order that she switched to a more stamina-based approach. She had hoped they could practice something to help the kids. She pursed her lips and grit her teeth at how well that had gone, unable to keep Kaito’s stupid, playful grin out of her head; it didn’t help that his lofty laugh came from behind her as he still continued to goof off with Rin and Len.

Miku’s expression changed just slightly in a subtle way that almost indicated the presence of a smile though her lips didn’t turn up. She knew she didn’t have to find him, logically, but she personally needed to. Her heart wouldn’t stop throbbing in her chest until she saw him. She gently removed Meiko’s hand from her shoulder, bowed her head just slightly, and continued on her way. She took her time as she wandered through the Sekai, letting her fingertips brush the frigid metal of seemingly fallen steel beams. It still felt as if it could all melt away around her, once more fading into the nebulous dreams of one not quite real. Her hands trembled as the pull in her heart led her into a vast expanse of grey.

That said, I rewrote this song with extra "ick" factor from the perspective of a selfish, unreliable narrator, as I believe this was the writer's intention.
