After years of settling into a comfortable life as a sensei, Iruka is pulled back into the field for an S-rank he has no business being on, utilizing an ability he’s hardly ever trained, with the same mission captain who had overseen his final fuckup in the field years ago. A mission captain who doesn’t seem particularly happy to be working with him again.
Iruka probably wouldn’t be particularly happy about this, either, if he wasn’t focused on just trying to make it home alive.

Summary
Hatake Kakashi knows how to handle missions. People are an entirely unknown variable. Normally, it wouldn’t be such a big deal but one Umino Iruka makes Kakashi want to try. Except they can’t have a single conversation that doesn’t end with Kakashi pissing off the teacher. Thus Kakashi has started a notebook where he writes down things he learns about Iruka.
He wasn’t expecting Iruka to find it.

Summary
Shikamaru has survived ambushes, missions gone sideways, even Naruto’s terrible jokes. What he hasn’t survived, at least not gracefully, is five separate occasions where Naruto manages to pin him, crowd him, or otherwise ruin his peace of mind in ways far too distracting to be normal.
Training ground accidents, cramped closets, battlefield patch-ups, sleepovers, and bathhouse disasters, every situation ends the same: Shikamaru trying (and failing) to pretend he’s fine.
Add one final moment where Naruto finally figures out what’s been going on, and suddenly Shikamaru’s carefully-maintained façade doesn’t stand a chance.

or 5 times Shikamaru got a raging boner for Naruto but the latter couldn't comprehend nor realize it (according to Shikamaru); and the 1 time he finally did.
