Summary
This is an original work I wrote recently, it covers relatively harsh themes such as eating disorders and major character death.
She lies there. Eyes closed; mouth barely open as she draws in shallow breath. In and out. In and out. The shadows of her home pressing heavily on her frail body. It’s as if she can’t breathe. She cannot breathe. She rakes her hands across her chest, to her neck. Scrawling for air. Her nails leave red ribbons across her skin, curling around her throat, her chest. Constricting her stomach, they tie her hands.

Summary
Esther Sato, a Japanese girl born in America transfers schools for the first time, ending up in Pheonix highschool. She meets a British student, Augustina Fernsby, daughter of a duke and duchess, obliged to immigrate to the States under forced circumstances of the economy. Augustina's parents have plans to marry her off as soon as they get back to Britain when they graduate. Esther admires Augustina's beauty, and tries to capture it with painting, as to becoming captivated from her brown hair, to the mole under her right eye.
