Summary
“My name is Cass. I am not your vessel; I am not IV”
A cold wind blew, almost blowing out the candle from the strength. Thunderous rage simmered in the air, trying to plant fear in the outsiders -or rather IVs body’s- veins.
The intruder simply reacted with a small sigh, not annoyed or angry, just cognizant. Like it expected this harshness that would have made Sleeps fourth quiver and shy away. To apologise for causing any problems. The contrast was startling enough to make Sleep pause, an attempt to recess the situation. Pretending to calm so as to get more information out, to reveal more weakness he could exploit. As much as Sleep wanted to strike, he couldn’t risk the very likely possibility of hurting his vessel. Besides, he could feel how IV’s heart pounded as if he’d just ran a marathon, that was enough to be sure this intruder was not unshakable.
If he’d have known that IV’s heart was racing because he was afraid, he might have approached this situation differently.

Summary
Will's breath hitches, his legs squeezing subconsciously around Mike's hips.
Well, Mike thinks it's subconscious. He feels one of Will's pinkies brush his hand too, but he could be imagining that one. He rests his forehead against Will's, and like clockwork, one of Will's hands reaches up to his cheek, holding his face tenderly. "Mike?" He calls again.
Mike takes a deep breath, wanting to melt into Will's body. "Can I-" he bumps their noses.
Will shuts his eyes, but not like he's waiting for something, more like he's closing off. He leans forward tentatively, kissing Mike's cheek. "Don't." He whispers, his hand coming to Mike's hair to run through it thoughtfully. "You should start growing this out again."
Mike's heart sinks. "What?" He whispers.

Summary
Will lets out a small squawk as Mike’s hand— his very cold, very freezing hand— finds its way around the blankets and under his sweater. “I’m sick, you weirdo,” he says, half-laughing into the side of Mike’s head, “I have a fever.”
“I don’t care,” Mike mumbles, “you’re warm and I’m cold. This is nice.”
“You’re going to get sick,” Will tries, for the umpteenth time, but it’s pointless. Mike Wheeler is stubborn and hardheaded and he never does anything halfway— not even this.
Will gets sick. He's dealing with it. Seriously, Mike- he's fine.
