Summary
Genevieve never wanted any of this.
A quiet sister as part of a clergy which was attacked by a horde of demons, killing everyone she's ever held dear was the last thing she anticipated. If it weren't for a demon-hunter and his friend, she, too, would be dead.
What she thought would be a short, dark period of her life instead turned out to be a bad omen in disguise, as the demons who came after her left their mark--attracting more demons to her non-stop. With only one company to turn to, she has no choice but to work with the half-demon man-child in order to figure out what's going on behind the scenes.
As the events of Devil May Cry 5 unfold, Genevieve becomes entangled in a conspiracy stretching back to Sparda's rebellion, an ancient ritual, and a demon imprisoned for millennia. A bit of a slow-burn romantic comedy with Dante, who's slowly realizing that his age is catching up to him, learning that maybe he does want a bit more from life than what he's been working with all along.

Summary
There was a loud knocking on the door. All three children were crying for their own reasons and Soap felt as if he’d lose his mind at any moment. It was so overwhelming. Somehow, war felt easier than this. “Leah, give your brother back his toy,” He commands softly, picking up Sophie from her rocker.
Leah yells out, “But I want it!”
“Yes,” Soap says, making his way to the door, “I understand but you snatched it from his hands. You have plenty of other toys you can play with.”
“No! I want this one.”
Alec sobs louder and Soaps head feels like it’s about to explode. Sophie needs to get fed, he’s aware. But right now so much is going on. How the hell did his sister do this?
“Leah-“ He’s cut off as he trips over a Lego set. He starts hopping on one foot, just inches from the door and has to bite his lips to stop himself from cursing. Sophie screams at the top of her lungs.
“I know,” He coos, “I’m sorry. I’ll get you fed in a moment.”
He adjusts her and throws open the door. On the other side is the last person he’d ever expect to see.
