Summary
Buck had no idea what he was going to do next. He had Maddie’s jeep, but not Maddie. He wanted an escape but he wanted his sister to escape with him. He just …he sat on the hood of the car, parked in a nearly empty parking lot, out of gas and no money to get more.
“Everything ok?” Buck looked up and saw a guy in a uniform. US Navy.
“Uh, ye- yeah. All- all good.” Buck hated that he stuttered when he was nervous.
“Wanna try again for a more believable answer?” The guy gave him a small smile. “I'm Petty Officer First Class Ryan. I work at the recruitment station over there. Ever thought about enlisting?”
“I just … ran out of gas.” Buck admitted, blushing when his stomach rumbled. It'd only been a day since he ate last. Two, but he was trying to trick his body into thinking it had only been one.
“How about I buy you lunch, you let me tell you a bit about the Navy, and if you're not interested, I help you get a few bucks for gas?”
“I don't need a handout.” Buck ducked his head.

Summary
Joe West doesn't get custody of Barry, and he's actually relieved. It would be really weird to live with the person who arrested your dad for a murder he didn't commit. But he's never met the Lance's, who he is now stuck with since they're the only family Social Services was able to find. Luckily, Sara is pretty cool. She humors Barry and they become thick as thieves. Oliver and Tommy aren't so bad, either. Especially when they invite Barry to events so he can cause some sort of disaster so they can end it early. Besides, they paid him well enough for it.
He skips grades, and ends up in the same year as Sara, and they graduate together. Barry doesn't like the idea of her running off with Oliver, but he loves his sister and tells her he'll be there to pick her up when she gets back.
Only they never make it back. And then the Lance's blame Barry. So he runs. He finally takes out the plans he and Sara made together and he runs. But not before talking to Thea and promising to come back once a year to see her and take her out for the day, just the two of them. He lost his parents when he was around her age, so he understands a lot better than most would.

Summary
Barry can't handle being around his team after his dad is killed and Zoom is gone. Before he can take off and make things worse, creating Flashpoint, Leonard Snart stops him and makes him an offer to join the Rogues. But not as a Speedster. Leonard Snart wants the brain behind the mask.
Barry takes a chance and joins the Rogues while letting Hartley Rathaway convince him to go back to school and get his PhD.
Along the way, Barry finds he ended up with a whole new family. It takes some time, but he finds he never lost his old family either. It just took them a little while to remember he was as much Barry Allen, if not moreso, as he was the Flash.

Summary
Barry Allen woke up and his entire world had changed. When he was struck by lightning he had been ready to tell Iris he loved her and start the next phase of their relationship. To him it had been yesterday. To Iris it had been nine months and she had fallen in love with Eddie during that time.
He needed to get out of there. He needed to do something stupid.
And that’s where the other change both came in handy and ruined his plans. He ran from Central City to Los Vegas where he planned to drink and gamble his sorrows away. The gambling part was fine, but he found he couldn’t get drunk. He also found that with his new speed, it was a lot easier to outwit the typical tricks to the different games and gambling lost its luster early on.
So he was at the hotel bar, nursing a drink that would do nothing for him. Miserable.
“Someone that pretty shouldn’t be looking so sad,” a man with striking blue eyes said as he sat down next to Barry, “Either you’re having the worst day of your life, or you’re trying to lure some poor sap into a con.”
