Hannibal didn’t like living in this small, plain house at first: no piano, no room for the books he adored so much, or even a place where he could realize his artistic cooking skills by making the finest dinner for the two of them. But one morning he stood in the narrow kitchen, a glass of wine in hand, and realized: this place reminded him of Will's old home in Baltimore. The same old plain walls, lack of space, the same quiet that pressed against the walls. After that, the house became endurable. Almost acceptable.
